The Nifty Bank, or Bank Nifty, is an index of the most liquid and large capitalized Indian banking stocks, serving as a benchmark for their capital market performance. It comprises 12 stocks, with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and State Bank of India being the top contributors. Launched in 2003, the index is calculated using the free float market capitalization method and includes a total returns index variant.
