The document discusses using AWS for disaster recovery. It provides an overview of AWS global infrastructure including regions and availability zones. It then covers basics of disaster recovery including recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives. The document argues that AWS provides a more cost effective approach to disaster recovery than maintaining a secondary datacenter. It describes several common disaster recovery architectures on AWS like backup and restore, pilot light, warm standby, and multi-site solutions. Finally, it lists specific AWS services that can be used for disaster recovery and provides resources to learn more.
Backup and Recovery with Cloud-Native Deduplication and Use Cases from the Fi...Amazon Web Services
by Hugh Emberson, CTO, StorReduce
Designing and deploying cloud-enabled backup & recovery solutions often leads to opportunities for reducing storage requirements and increasing efficiencies. Having effective cloud-native deduplication capabilities as part of your backup & recovery strategy can optimize migration, decrease the need for purpose built backup appliances like Data Domains, large tape archives, and enable cost reductions of up to 95%. In this session, StorReduce will provide best practices around data deduplication in relation to designing and deploying solutions around backup, archive, and general unstructured file data. They will also demonstrate how using a cloud native interface with scale-out deduplication enables generic cloud services like search inside all backups moved to cloud. They will guide the audience through two customer use cases from the financial services and healthcare industries.

3. The results section outlines key lessons around backup including ensuring it is accessible, able to scale, safe, works with DR policies, and that ownership is clearly defined. For DR, lessons include having a plan, testing regularly, and that different solutions can meet varying needs.
Adam Dagnall: Advanced S3 compatible storage integration in CloudStackShapeBlue
Adam's slides from his talk at the CloudStack European User group meetup, March 13, London. To provide tighter integration between the S3 compatible object store and CloudStack, Cloudian has developed a connector to allow users and their applications to utilize the object store directly from within the CloudStack platform in a single sign-on manner with self-service provisioning. Additionally, CloudStack templates and snapshots are centrally stored within the object store and managed through the CloudStack service. The object store offers protection of these templates and snapshots across data centres using replication or erasure coding.

Coach Domenico Tedesco has managed a tactical shakeup and a regular exit for some of the oldest players. Experienced bests remain, not least the 37-year-old Jan Vertonghen in defense, the 32-year-old De Bruyne himself in midfield, and 31-year-old Romelu Lukaku up visible.
Still, younger actors like De Bruyne’s Manchester City partner Jeremy Doku bring fresh vitality to the team. Euro Cup Germany Qualifying unbeaten with just four goals allowed from eight games was a welcome sign of accomplishment back on track under Tedesco.
