This document summarizes the therapeutic management of Babesia-induced chronic kidney disease in a dog. It describes the case of a 1-year-old male pitbull with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, and reduced appetite. Tests revealed the dog had Babesia gibsoni infection and stage 4 chronic kidney disease. The dog was given triple drug therapy for 28 days to treat the Babesia along with medications to manage the kidney disease, including an ACE inhibitor, bicarbonate, and a renal diet. Over 17 days of treatment, the dog's symptoms improved and it returned to normal health and well-being with no further complications reported.
