The study focuses on analyzing particle-rich crude oils from Nigeria's Osso platform using vibrational spectroscopy and multivariate statistical methods. A new high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was developed for fractionating the crude oil into saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes (SARA), demonstrating good predictive abilities for the composition of these components. The research suggests that infrared (IR) spectroscopy can serve as an efficient alternative to conventional fractionation methods in determining crude oil composition.
