3. 4 System Requirements
Before you install BIxPress make sure you meet the following requirements for the machine where you
are planning an installation:
 SQL Server Integration Services 2005 or 2008
 BIDS 2005 or 2008 (Business Intelligence Development Studio)
 Windows XP or Vista or Windows 2000/2003 or Windows 7
5 Software
Delivery: BIxPress is delivered via email with License Key. Use the license key to unlock the product
(see below). Please note that you will not receive a delivery by postal mail. You will need this license key
to complete the download process and activate the product.
Maintenance Plan: Product license(s) come(s) with a 1 year Maintenance Plan. This entitles you to free
application updates and technical support for 1 year from your initial purchase.
6 Installing Software
Installation Important Note:
If you have downloaded BIxPress from public download section on the website then you won’t find
"Register" option. In order to activate BIxPress using Serial Number it must be downloaded from the
Customer Portal http://cms.pragmaticworks.com (Only valid customers get access to customer portal).
User ID and Password for Customer Portal automatically sent to you upon your first purchase. If you have
not received Customer Portal User ID/Password then please contact support@pragmaticworks.com.
Firewall/Proxy issues can stop you from registering your product automatically over internet. If automatic
online registration fails then see "Offline Activation" section (listed on this page)
Please perform the following steps to activate BIxPress using your Serial Number. You can only activate
the software if you are running in the trial mode.
Method-1
1. Launch BIxPress from Start Menu-> Programs -> BIxPress
2. Click on the "Register" Button on the trial screen (If you don't see "Register" button then you have to
download the product from Customer Portal)
3. Enter the information [Name, Company, S/N] on the register screen. Generally you get S/N in the email
upon your purchase.
4. Click "Activate" to unlock the software. Once software is activated you should not see the Trial screen
when you launch BIxPress next time.
Method-2
1. Launch BIxPress from Start Menu-> Programs -> BIxPress
2. Click "Try" button on the trial dialog box (If Try button is grayed out then you must follow Method-1)
3. Once BIxPress is loaded Click on the "Registration Information" link and click "Activate" button to
launch registration wizard.
4. Click "Activate" to unlock the software. Once the product is activated you should not see the Trial
screen when you launch BIxPress next time.
Offline Registration
If you can’t register the product automatically by clicking "Activate" Option then perform the following
steps.
1. Launch BIxPress from Start Menu-> Programs -> BIxPress
2. On the trial screen click "Generate Email" or "Copy to clipboard" link to copy the registration
information.
3. Send that information to pragmatic support support@pragmaticworks.com (This information will
include machine Hash Code and S/N you are trying to activate)
4. Once we receive email, we will send you activation code back so you can register the product in offline
mode.
5. On the trial screen click the "Register" button (if you don’t see "Register" option then go to Step-4)

4. 6. Fill out the registration information [Name, Company, S/N]
7. Click on "Activate Manually by entering Activation Code".
Important Note
If you don't see activate manually option and keep getting error during registration process then
please contact us at support@pragmaticworks.com
8. Enter the S/N and Activation Code provided by Pragmatic Works and click "Activate" button. Once the
product is activated you should not see the Trial screen when you launch BIxPress next time.

from this web site brings up a form for reporting your situation. After receiving such a report, a Pragmatic
Works specialist will work with you to determine the problem’s severity, and to schedule a resolution of
the problem. Examples include upgrading to a more recent release, determining a workaround, or
