This document is a qualification paper submitted by Kadirova Aziza to the ministry of high and secondary specialized education of Uzbekistan on ways of teaching reading comprehension through short stories. The paper discusses using short stories in lessons to make them more effective. It identifies different types of reading and the benefits of short stories for keeping students engaged. The paper also provides examples of pre, during, and post reading activities that can be used to promote comprehension of short stories, such as asking questions, translating sentences, finding morals, and completing exercises. The conclusion states that short stories help develop children's thinking and vocabulary skills as well as entertain people of all ages.
