Azim Premji is an Indian business tycoon, investor, and philanthropist. He was born in 1945 in Mumbai, India and received his education from Stanford University. He took over his father's company, Western Indian Vegetable Products Ltd., in 1966, which manufactured cooking oil, and later diversified and renamed it Wipro. He is the chairman of Wipro and is known as the "Bill Gates of India." He has donated over $21 billion to philanthropic causes through his Azim Premji Foundation, which works to improve primary education in India.
