The unique global cloud infrastructure offered by AWS helps customers build reliable, available, secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant applications. AWS has more experience operating global cloud infrastructures that enables customers run business critical workloads in the public cloud than anyone else. In this session, learn how AWS is continuously enhancing and expanding the AWS global infrastructure through more Regions and Availability Zones, custom hardware, purpose-built global network backbone, and innovative energy management systems to deliver to our customers lower latency, greater reliability, greater scalability, and operational efficiencies.
Introduction to AWS Cloud Computing | AWS Public Sector Summit 2016Amazon Web Services
Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides on-demand computing resources and services in the cloud, with pay-as-you-go pricing. This session provides an overview and describes how using AWS resources instead of your own is like purchasing electricity from a power company instead of running your own generator. Using AWS resources provides many of the same benefits as a public utility: Capacity exactly matches your need, you pay only for what you use, economies of scale result in lower costs, and the service is provided by a vendor experienced in running large-scale networks. A high-level overview of AWS’s infrastructure (such as AWS Regions and Availability Zones) and AWS services is provided as part of this session.
Introduction to the AWS Cloud - AWSome Day 2019 - CharlotteAmazon Web Services
This free, one-day training will provide a step-by-step introduction to the core AWS services for compute, storage, database, and networking. AWS technical experts will explain key features and use cases, share best practices, walk through technical demos, and be available to answer your questions one-on-one. Who should attend? AWSome Day is ideal for IT managers, system engineers, system administrators, and architects who are eager to learn more about cloud computing and how to get started on the AWS Cloud.

(DVO315) Log, Monitor and Analyze your IT with Amazon CloudWatchAmazon Web Services
You may already know that you can use Amazon CloudWatch to view graphs of your AWS resources like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instances or Amazon Simple Storage Service. But, did you know that you can monitor your on-premises servers with Amazon CloudWatch Logs? Or, that you can integrate CloudWatch Logs with Elasticsearch for powerful visualization and analysis? This session will offer a tour of the latest monitoring and automation capabilities that we’ve added, how you can get even more done with Amazon CloudWatch.
Amazon RDS allows you to launch an optimally configured, secure and highly available database with just a few clicks. It provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity while managing time-consuming database administration tasks, freeing you to focus on your applications and business.

● It doesn't store any data on the hard disk of your personal computer.
● Access data from a remote server.
3. Amazon Web Service
● It is a platform that offers flexible, reliable,
scalable, easy-to-use and cost-effective cloud
computing solutions.
● It is developed with a combination of :-
○ Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
○ Platform as a service (PaaS)
○ Software as a service (SaaS)
4. LaaS vs PaaS vs SaaS
● IaaS
○ Cloud-based services, pay-as-you-go for services such as storage, networking, and
virtualization.
● PaaS
○ Hardware and software tools available over the internet.
● SaaS
○ Software that’s available via a third-party over the internet.
5. Aws services & offerings
● It offers a wide range of different business purpose global cloud-based products.
● The products include storage, databases, analytics, networking, mobile, development tools, enterprise
applications, with a pay-as-you-go pricing model.
6. Zones and Regions
● Regions is a physical location around the world where we cluster data centers.
● We call each group of logical data centers an Availability Zone.
● Each AWS Region consists of multiple, isolated, and physically separate AZ's within a geographic area.
● It provides a more extensive global footprint than any other cloud provider, and to support its global footprint and ensure customers are
served across the world.
7. AWS Local Zone
● It is an AWS infrastructure deployment that places select services closer to your end users.
● It is an extension of a Region that is in a different location from your Region.
8. Storage - Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)
● It is an object storage service that offers industry-leading scalability, data availability, security, and performance.
● Customers of all sizes and industries can use it to store and protect any amount of data for a range of use cases, such as
websites, mobile applications, backup and restore, archive, enterprise applications, IoT devices, and big data analytics.
● It is designed for 99.999999999% (11 9's) of durability, and stores data for millions of applications for companies all
around the world.
● Amazon S3 Features
■ Low cost and Easy to Use
■ Secure
■ Scalable
■ Higher performance
■ Integrated with AWS services
9. Amazon EBS(Elastic Block Storage)
● It is a web service that provides block level storage volumes for use with EC2 instances.
● EBS volumes are highly available and reliable storage volumes that can be attached to any running instance
and used like a hard drive.
● It has three types of volume,
○ EBS General Purpose (SSD)
○ Provisioned IOPS (SSD)
○ EBS Magnetic Volumes
10. Amazon EFS( Elastic File System)
● A fully managed file storage service that makes it easy to setup and scale file storage in the Amazon cloud.
● Amazon EFS is not supported on Windows instances.
