About Me:
Julie Oden (Fry)
I am a mother of 2 children, and a wife of a very kind and supportive husband.
I am the founder of The Chrysalis Collective, and a certified Meta-Performance
coach and Brand consultant with an over 28+ year track record of success
working with high-profile brands including Manulife, The Home Depot, AOL,
Yahoo and Myspace. Today, I spends the bulk of my time working with leaders
and companies who are moving into a season of transformation. I leverage my
deep curiosity about what motivates people, along with my expansive brand,
marketing and corporate experience to help organizations get out of their own
way so that they can drive impact well beyond what they thought possible.
With The Chrysalis Collective, I have built of a collective portfolio of professionals
with complimentary areas of expertise who are bound by a common desire to
drive impactful transformation to companies and individuals around the
globe.
What gives me the greatest joy? Supporting women in defining big, expansive
dreams, then supporting and championing them as they exceed their own
expectations.
An approach to goal setting:
• *Focus on what you can control
• Invest in deep self-reflection (awareness)
• Get yourself into the right mindset
(alignment)
• Develop a big picture Vision of what you
want (action)
• Measure and celebrate success along the way
*Flexibility and Adaptability
Let’s start here…
Control
Influence
No Control
or Influence
Understanding what’s in your control – Sphere of Influence
The ONLY thing you
can control 100% is
YOU
ACTION: Taking consistent and purposeful steps towards your goals and vision
ALIGNMENT: Provides support and fuels perseverance needed to overcome obstacles and realize one’s full
potential and vision.
AWARENESS: Provides direction, understanding of oneself – allowing for informed decisions aligned with
your authentic self.
A framework for growth:
AWARENESS, ALIGNMENT & ACTION
Beliefs – What I
believe to be true but
Values – That
which is most
important to me.

Awareness
Growth starts with self-awareness. Being aware of your strengths, weaknesses,
values, beliefs and aspirations provides a foundation for growth. Self-reflection,
seeking feedback and engaging in introspective practices can help you gain a
deeper understanding of yourself and your potential.
• Beliefs
• Values
• Perspectives
Beliefs
Beliefs are things we believe to be true,
however, they may not be true or helpful.
Reflect – 5
mins
What are some of your beliefs about yourself?
(write them down in your participants guide)
Ask Yourself:
• Is this true?
• Is this helpful?
• How does this affect the way you act?
• How could it be different if you didn’t carry this
belief?
Values
Values –

• Times when you were happiest
• Times when you were most proud
• Times when you were most fulfilled and
satisfied

Our Brains

Distorts
Generalizes
*Our brains are wired for
efficiency, not accuracy!
Reflect – 5 mins
• What new connections have you made in relation to Perspective?
• If our brains truly do sort through the lenses that we develop, what
possibilities might you be missing?
• Have you started to uncover potential blind spots? What are they?
• What is your way forward now that you know your blind spots?
Alignment
Mindset
Do you tend to exist above or below the line?
Where do you want to exist?

What is mindset?
Be Do Have
Do Have Be
If I do the right things, I’ll have what I need to become the person I’m supposed to be.
If I focus on who I want to become today, it’ll become clear
what I need to do, so that I can have all things that I desire.
Reversing your mindset
Reflect – 5 mins
• Do you tend to be more above or below
the line in your day to day? How could
you change this?
• How can embracing more of a growth
mindset start to change things in your
life?
Action
Let’s use what we’ve learned about ourselves and start to dream….
From ‘Vision’ to Goals
Why is building your Vision so important?: Map –
journey becomes clear ‘You can’t begin your journey if
you don’t know where you want to end up’
Moving from Vision to Goals
• Start big, refine
• SMART (Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant
and time bound)
• Break down into smaller chunks (milestones) –
which makes action possible
Vision exercise – 5 years from now
Your work - ____________________________________________________________________________________
Your home - ___________________________________________________________________________________
Your relationships - _____________________________________________________________________________
Your finances - _________________________________________________________________________________
Yourself - _____________________________________________________________________________________
Your impact - __________________________________________________________________________________
Vision exercise questions – 5 years from now
•Your Work – What job will you be doing? Where will you be working? How will you be working towards what you
want this to look like?
•Your Home – Are you hoping to save up to buy a place? Are there some home improvements in your current
place you’ve been putting off? Does the garden need some TLC?
•Your Finances – Do you have some debts you want to pay off, once and for all? Are you saving for something in
particular? Do you want to get on top of your retirement plans?
•Your Relationships – Are you happy in love? Wanting to get married? How much value do your close friendships
bring? Do you need to work more on connecting with people?
•Yourself – How do you want to feel about yourself one year from now? Mentally, physically, socially, personally?
What does that look and feel like?
•Your Impact - What do you want to have accomplished? What difference do you want to have made to yourself,
your family, others, your community? What will you be most proud of?
My first step is….
What is one specific action (no matter how small) that you committing to doing this week coming from this
workshop?
___________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Creating your SMART goals
Now, take all the outcomes you desire and break them down into SMART goals (Specific,
measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound). For example:
By Dec, 2025, I want to have finished my medical studies online and received my certification,
have a job in my field of expertise, have a family and home of my own, and mentor 5 other women
in setting and achieving their own goals.
Your SMART goal draft:
