This diagram shows the transition from a parasite economy to a civilized economy between 2007-2020. A parasite economy relies on vendors, employees and competitors, while a civilized economy focuses on entrepreneurs, customers and creating value for others through mutual understanding and cooperation. By 2020, the choice is made on which path to follow.
The document summarizes an art project by Tom Keene called "Uncertain Substance: The Viterbi Algorithm" where he explored the history and workings of the Viterbi algorithm by building devices like a primitive transmitter, software defined radio, and speech recognition system. The Viterbi algorithm is able to search radio waves for conversations about money by finding patterns in data without hearing every word, similar to how humans can understand speech in a noisy room through context. The project aimed to reveal how the algorithm operates outside of its original design intent and to take an open-ended, experimental approach to understanding this concept of control through technology.

Mind Mapping automation in Management Reporting applied to a hospital Admissi...José M. Guerrero
This document discusses how mind mapping can be used to generate management reports for hospital admissions departments. It provides examples of the types of information that could be included in automated mind map reports, such as the number of patients by admission type, time, level of care, and discharge details. The reports would help managers monitor department performance and key metrics in real-time when generated every 2-3 hours.
The document discusses automating manual tasks like claims processing, medical record updates, and user data entry through a solution called OpenSpan to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and address issues with the current healthcare provider's high operational expenses, risk of human error, and time-consuming repetitive tasks. OpenSpan would fetch data from disparate applications, automate validations and calculations, eliminate manual data re-entry and switching between applications, and ensure 24/7 availability to improve customer experience and compliance.

A radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) are computer systems used in radiology departments to store, manipulate, and distribute patient radiological data and images. PACS provides economical storage and convenient access to medical images from different modalities (source machines). The principles of PACS were first discussed in 1982 by radiologists. RIS and PACS integrate imaging modalities, secure networks for transmitting patient information, workstations for interpreting images, and archives for long-term storage and retrieval of medical information to help make better diagnoses.
Clinical information systems (CIS) integrate medical applications and technologies to collect, store, and analyze healthcare data to provide secure access for clinicians. A CIS includes electronic medical records, clinical decision support, and tools for training and research. Key benefits include easier access to patient data, improved searchability, enhanced safety, and data analysis. Nurses, physicians, administrators and other staff must be involved in selecting and implementing a CIS to ensure it meets clinical needs. The implementation process involves eight phases from planning to evaluation to ensure the system functions properly. Overall, a well-implemented CIS aims to make healthcare delivery and decision making more efficient, safer and higher quality.

The Importance of Black Women Understanding the Chemicals in Their Personal C...bkling
Certain chemicals, such as phthalates and parabens, can disrupt the body's hormones and have significant effects on health. According to data, hormone-related health issues such as uterine fibroids, infertility, early puberty and more aggressive forms of breast and endometrial cancers disproportionately affect Black women. Our guest speaker, Jasmine A. McDonald, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia University in New York City, discusses the scientific reasons why Black women should pay attention to specific chemicals in their personal care products, like hair care, and ways to minimize their exposure.
End-tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO2) is the level of carbon dioxide that is released at the end of an exhaled breath. ETCO2 levels reflect the adequacy with which carbon dioxide (CO2) is carried in the blood back to the lungs and exhaled.
Non-invasive methods for ETCO2 measurement include capnometry and capnography. Capnometry provides a numerical value for ETCO2. In contrast, capnography delivers a more comprehensive measurement that is displayed in both graphical (waveform) and numerical form.
Sidestream devices can monitor both intubated and non-intubated patients, while mainstream devices are most often limited to intubated patients.
