Guy Ritchie could be considered an auteur as he has a
very distinctive style which can be seen in his work as
a director, his style being gritty crime films with black
humour. He also writes a lot of the stuff he directs so
you could say that he is a very good example of an
auteur. His style is still clearly set out in his new big
budget ‘Sherlock Holmes’ saga.

6. Tim Burton
Tim Burton is another good example of an
auteur. Although his films differ in genre and
his story telling is very diverse, he still has a
very gothic visualistic style which his films are
famous for. Even his version of ‘Batman’ is
extremely gothic.
