Austin Hammer, an 18-year-old from Wyoming, Michigan who has cerebral palsy and autism, has been awarded an $800 scholarship by the North Oakland Foundation to attend a specialized therapy program called Euro-Peds National Center for Intensive Pediatric PT. The therapy program uses a patented "Suit Therapy" approach to help Austin rehabilitate after recently undergoing surgery to help him walk better. Austin's mother feels this therapy is their last hope to help Austin gain significant mobility. The scholarship will help cover the cost of Austin attending the 3-week therapy program that begins on June 13.
