Aurel A. Vlad was a Romanian lawyer and politician who played an important role in Transylvania's union with Romania in 1918. He was a member of the Romanian National Party and later founded and led the Romanian National Christian Party. Vlad held several ministerial positions, including Minister of Finance from 1919-1920 and later Minister of Labor. In 1950, at age 75, he was arrested by the Securitate and imprisoned, where he died in 1953.
