Ruby, a year 12 student, reviewed a magazine cover and contents page. She thought the colors used on the pages were vibrant but found the layout of the contents page too cluttered. While she liked that the front cover image clearly showed a focused model against a cluttered background, Ruby said she would read the magazine because the headlines appealed to her.

• Ruby is a student who is currently in year 12. she fits in with my
reader profile so that was the reason I asked her to look at my
magazine cover and contents page.
• She had quite a few comments to make, both positive and negative.
• “ I think that the colours that have been used on the pages were
vibrant and I liked them”
• She went on to say “...but I don't like the layout of the contents
page as I think the contents page is cluttered.”
• She did also say that she really liked the front cover image as it was
clear and Sydney who was the model was focused whilst the
background was cluttered.
• She said that she would read it if it was a real magazine as the
headlines appealed to her.
