Ethiopia has implemented various rural development policies under different regimes: The Imperial regime focused on modernizing agriculture through large-scale state initiatives like irrigation systems. The Dergue regime pursued socialist policies like land redistribution and collective farming. The EPRDF regime introduced an agricultural development strategy focusing on smallholder farmers and cooperatives. Currently, the PP government continues agricultural development and promotes agribusiness through clusters and social protection programs. However, the effectiveness of these policies has varied depending on factors like political stability and implementation capacity.
