1. “Atheist are curse in a society”
In 2013, there was a movement in Bangladesh called “shahbag movement”. It occurred
because of the ultimate punishment for the killers of freedom fighters in the war of independence
of Bangladesh (1971). In this movement there were some bloggers were involved. After the
movement there were some article found by those bloggers, which tells that they were atheists.
However, one of the Islamic political party called “HefazatIslamic Bangladesh” was against
those bloggers and they started to take some action against those bloggers. After a few days it
turned into a brutal situation. Many bloggers have killed because they were atheists. Blogger
Asif was one of them. Who has been murdered so roughly and his family was also at risk.
Nobody should support this kind of vulnerable situation. Killing someone is not a solution.
Religion is a matter of self believe, if someone force to believe in a religion, it will be insane. An
atheist is always not a bad person. History says, many sober person was an atheist, but they did
wonderful work for the people of the earth. Therefore, I do not agree with that atheist are curse in
a society because atheist people are thinking about humanity, their thinking is not biased and
they give emphasize on earth life rather than after life.
Every religion has talked about humanity. Many philosophers, even ethics have given humanity
much priority. An atheist always focuses on humanity and work for that. They, do not think
anything which do not good for the human civilization. The difference between atheists thinking
and religion thinking about humanity that religion thinks about one perspective which can be
biased. For example, in the holy Quran there are many quotes regarding humanities, and they are
giving rewards to theMuslim people to do good work for the human being. Therefore, if
someone does something for the betterment of humanism from the religion perspective, he may
do for the rewards. In this case, an atheist does not think about any rewards. There is a term
name “categorical imperative” given by one of the supreme philosopher Immanuel Kant, which
means moral work or working for the human or any kind of good work we should do without any
condition. We should not think about any kind of rewards or any kind of feedback. Another
example is, Christian beliefs that their religion is the only true religion. If it happens then there

2. will be no value for the Muslims or the other religion who are working for the humanity.
Cristian’s good work will be rewarded by their god and others work will be deprived. Therefore,
I believe doing for the human being should not do from the religion perspective rather than
treating everybody equally which an atheist can do. Because, they do not believe in a particular
religion. They do for the entire world human treating like brothers.
The atheist does not think anything which can be biased for others rather than they think
rationally. Ernest Hemingway an American author and journalist says that “All thinking men are
atheist”. However. I believe this because if a person judge from one religion perspective, there
must be a chance of being biased. For example, in the holy Quran there is a quotation “Truly,
Allah will admit those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do
righteous good deeds, to Gardens underneath which rivers flow (in Paradise), wherein they will
be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls and their garments therein will be of silk. Quran 22:
23” which explain that if someone do not believe in the oneness of Allah, then if we do righteous
good deeds we will not get the paradise. So, what will happen to us? Being a human then is a
curse. Mother Teresa, sacrifices her entire life by serving people. At last died in serving people.
She was Cristian. If we only judge from the perspective of Islam, then she will not enter in
heaven, though she did righteousness and good deeds. Therefore, thinking from a religious
perspective is thinking bias. An atheist does not think from the perspective of a Muslim, Cristian,
Hindu or as a Jew rather they think rationally an judgment they give without any kind of
business.
Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of believing in the existence of deities. An
atheist does not believe there is any god ruling the planet rather than they try to believe in
themselves. As they do not believe in god, they do not believe in after life. They do emphasize
on earthly life. The world history says there are thousands of famous people who were atheist.
They worked for the world without thinking what will happen to their afterlife. Lots of
philosophers and scientist born in this world who were atheist. Saint Thomas Augustine. Saint
Thomas Aquinas, Jeremy Bentham, Auguste Comte, Epicurus and many other philosophers were
atheist. Not only these people every but also scientists are also atheist. Jim-al Khalili an Iranian
physicist, Stephen Hawking, Alfred Nobel and many other scientists exists who were atheist.
These people have tried to emphasize on their earthly life and they became successful. Not only

3. do these people, every successful person doesn't think what will happen to their afterlife. They
do not care about it rather than they focus on the life they are leading.
Religion has a great history. Every religion has some story which needs to be appreciated
by all. Nobody should neglect religious person. There are many peoples' lives in our society who
keeps bad impressing about atheists. They argue that atheist people disrespect religion. They do
not give priority to the religious person. Another important thing is most of the people think that
atheist are anti-social. In this case, I should say that believing something blindly is not good.
Maximum people do not know what they are following. Atheist people do not disrespect other
religion ever. They just want to make a world where everybody will think rationally. An atheist
believes thinking rather than believing something. However, atheist are not anti-social. There are
many social thinkers who are atheists therefor, if someone think like that is his own wrong
perception.
In the end believing in a religion is not a matter of insane. Whereas, being an atheist is
not also a matter of curse. Nobody should force someone for believing or being an atheist. It is a
matter of personal choice. If your thinking makes you an atheist that is not a curse. However, it is
true that atheist people are not a curse of our society. They think for the society like religious
people do. Whatever they try to do happens by thinking rationally and they really focus on the
life they are living right now. To sum up, one sentence need to be mentioned from the Chinese
philosopher that “Respect yourself and others will respect you”. No matter someone is Muslim,
Hindu, Cristian or Jews or an atheist. The world should live in a world of respect.
