Particle Swarm Optimization–Long Short-Term Memory based Channel Estimation with Hybrid Beam Forming Power Transfer in WSN-IoT Applications
Authors
Reginald Jude Sixtus J and Tamilarasi Muthu, Puducherry Technological University, India
Abstract
Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) helps to overcome various difficulties in future technology wireless communications. NOMA, when utilized with millimeter wave multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, channel estimation becomes extremely difficult. For reaping the benefits of the NOMA and mm-Wave combination, effective channel estimation is required. In this paper, we propose an enhanced particle swarm optimization based long short-term memory estimator network (PSOLSTMEstNet), which is a neural network model that can be employed to forecast the bandwidth required in the mm-Wave MIMO network. The prime advantage of the LSTM is that it has the capability of dynamically adapting to the functioning pattern of fluctuating channel state. The LSTM stage with adaptive coding and modulation enhances the BER.PSO algorithm is employed to optimize input weights of LSTM network. The modified algorithm splits the power by channel condition of every single user. Participants will be first sorted into distinct groups depending upon respective channel conditions, using a hybrid beamforming approach. The network characteristics are fine-estimated using PSO-LSTMEstNet after a rough approximation of channels parameters derived from the received data.

Applications of artificial Intelligence in Mechanical Engineering.pdfAtif Razi
Historically, mechanical engineering has relied heavily on human expertise and empirical methods to solve complex problems. With the introduction of computer-aided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA), the field took its first steps towards digitization. These tools allowed engineers to simulate and analyze mechanical systems with greater accuracy and efficiency. However, the sheer volume of data generated by modern engineering systems and the increasing complexity of these systems have necessitated more advanced analytical tools, paving the way for AI.
AI offers the capability to process vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and make predictions with a level of speed and accuracy unattainable by traditional methods. This has profound implications for mechanical engineering, enabling more efficient design processes, predictive maintenance strategies, and optimized manufacturing operations. AI-driven tools can learn from historical data, adapt to new information, and continuously improve their performance, making them invaluable in tackling the multifaceted challenges of modern mechanical engineering.

How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

2.3 Description : indicators
The indicating system generally indicates an abnormal
operating situation.
However, there are correct operation indicators which are
mainly used to test some systems. Two types of indicators are
used:
The visual indicators,
The aural warnings.
The visual indicators are activated by one of the following:
Lighting via the closure of a contact providing a supply,
Lighting via the closure of a contact providing a ground,
Lighting via the opening of a contact.
The aural alarm can be a gong or a modulated signal heard
in the headset.
The aural alarm, which always reinforces a visual indicator, is
only used for VERY SERIOUS functional cases.

The VEMD is used to display engine and vehicle parameters. The
VEMD will transmit FLI warnings to the ASU for processing. The
CWP is used to display amber Cautions and Red warnings. In some
cases audible warnings are initiated directly from the CWP. The
W/LT TST is used to illuminate all the lights on the panel to verify
proper operation.

2.11 Normal functioning : Ancillary System Unit
The engine fire detection system is processed by the No 1 PCB of
the ASU and sent to the Caution Warning Panel, CWP.
The NR speed sensing signal is processed by the PCB No 1.
The PCB No 1 also processes the FLI warnings and the red
indicator light alarms.
"Each of these signals generates an aural alarm when the ""HORN"
switch is configured to allow audible.
The NR speed sensing signal is also processed by a frequency-
voltage converter on PCB No 2, and sent to the VEMD for recording
purposes.
The battery over temperature detection is processed by the PCB No
2, and sent to the CWP.
The PP12 bus bar voltage is converted by the PCB No 2 and sent
to the VEMD for display.
The generator output current is processed by a converter on PCB
No 2, and sent to the VEMD.
The optional exterior load-indicator signal is processed by a filter on
the PCB No 2, and sent to the VEMD.
A signal from the Electronic Engine Control Unit , EECU, is
processed by the PCB No 3, the Engine Backup Control Auxiliary
Unit, EBCAU.
The EBCAU, is dedicated to the engine back-up control and
connected to the CWP.

3.9 Status detection
Depending on both N1 and NR parameter values, the VEMD
manages three states of engine status : STOP, START and
FLIGHT.
The commutation threshold between these different status are :
- The STOP state is set when N1 is under 10% and NR under 70
Rpm.
- For N1 > 10% and NR > 70 Rpm, the engine status switches from
STOP to START state,
- When N1 reaches 60%, the engine switches into FLIGHT status
and, the First Limitation Indication, FLI, is automatically displayed
on the VEMD.
At the end of the flight, the pilot switches off the engine and when
N1 decrease under 50%, the engine status switches back to
START, or Re-START, state.
After, when N1 drop under 10% and NR under 70 RPM, the current
flight is completed and recorded in the VEMD memory while the
Flight Report page is displayed on the VEMD.
The flight number is increased for the beginning of the new flight
and the status of the engine is STOP.

3.10.1 3 infos page
As saw before, the VEMD detects three operating engine
status: shutdown (STOP), starting (START) and FLIGHT
modes.
During STOP or START operations, the VEMD displays on the
upper screen, the ENGINE "3 infos" page comprising :
an analog scale and a digital value of TOT with starting
limitations. The TOT parameter is sent from EECU to the
VEMD,
an analog scale and a digital value of N1. The N1
parameter is sent by the EECU to the VEMD. The VEMD
computes the DELTA N1, yellow area of the N1 scale,
which is the deviation between the actual N1 and N1 at
maximal Take-off power,
an analog scale and a digital value of Torque. The Torque
parameter is received from the EECU,
an analog scale and a digital value of Fuel quantity. The
fuel quantity signal (DC Voltage 0-11,5V) is received from
the fuel probe (refer to fuel system chapter),
a digital value of OAT. Computes by the VEMD with OAT
analog signal (100 Ohms at 0 °C platinium resistance)
received from the temperature probe,
P2 pick up flag. If the sand filter system (optionnal
equipment) is operative a P2 flag is displayed on the 3
infos page(and FLI page). This discrete signal is received
from the SAND FILTER installation,
Bleed Valve Flag. The flag is a green and white hatched
rectangle. Engine bleed valve in open state is displayed
with the flag on the 3 infos page(and FLI page). This
discrete signal is received from the EECU.

During STOP, START or FLIGHT operations the VEMD
displays, on the lower screen, the "vehicle/engine" page
comprising :
two analog scale linked with a digital value of engine oil
pressure and temperature. The engine oil pressure and
temperature parameters and their limitations are received by
the VEMD from the EECU,
a digital value of starter/generator current , I/GEN,
corresponding to the current used by the starter (negative
value) or to the current provided by the generator (positive
value). This analog signal is measured on a shunt and
adapted by the ASU board,
a digital value of the main bus bar voltage, U/BUS. The
bus voltage analog signal is measured on the main bus
bar and adapted by the ASU board,
a digital value of fuel flow, FF. The fuel flow parameter is
received from the EECU,
a digital value of remaining flight time. Using FF and Fuel
Quantity values, the VEMD computes the remaining flight
time (END).

3.10.4 First Limitation Indicator (FLI)
During flight operation, N1 exeeds 60%, the VEMD switches
over automatically to the "FLIGHT" display. The upper LCD
shows then all the engine limitation data on the FLI, the First
Limitation Indicator.
Engine parameters are displayed with FLI (First Limitation
Indicator) symbology on the upper screen if following
conditions are fulfilled:
Flight state (N1 exeeds 60%),
No parameter failure or inconsistency,
No pilot request for 3 info page display.
The FLI page shows also the fuel quantity, the outside air
temperature "OAT", the value of the "P2" air pick-off, the
status of the bleed valve and a message area.
FLI computation: The three parameters N1, TOT and Torque
are converted in a common scale which is the parameter FLI
value.
For the three parameters:
0% corresponds to zero power,
96% corresponds to Maximum Continuous Power (MCP),
100% corresponds to Maximum Take-Off Power (MTOP),
104% corresponds to Maximum Transient Power (MTP).
The VEMD generates an aural warning when:
at least one of the N1, TOT or TRQ parameters exceeds
its value at maximum take-off power (MTOP) for longer
than 1,5 seconds,
at least one of the N1, TOT or TRQ paramaters, summed
with a constant, exceeds the Maximum Transient Power
(MTP).
