PRORAGIS is a national database launched in 2011 by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) that allows park and recreation agencies to input data about their operations to benchmark against peers. It merged two previous NRPA tools - an operating ratio study and a GIS mapping model. Agencies can use PRORAGIS to compare budgets, facilities, and programs with similar agencies, assist with master planning, and help justify funding requests. Inputting data is free for agencies and involves filling out an online profile with information about jurisdiction, departments, programs, budgets, personnel, facilities, and maps of parks, trails, and amenities.

KAINet began as a pilot project in 2006 and has expanded into a national agricultural information network in Kenya. The project was implemented in four phases: 1) Planning and consensus building, 2) Developing strategies, 3) Building capacity and institutional repositories, 4) Establishing the national repository and promoting KAINet. Key achievements include strengthened partnerships, development of five institutional repositories, and the creation of a framework and strategy to guide KAINet. Challenges included differing priorities between institutions and limited resources. Lessons learned highlight the importance of partnerships, planning, and knowledge sharing for sustainable information networks.

The Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) was established in 1962 as a cooperative project between Cyprus and UNDP to conduct agricultural research. It was selected as an EU Centre of Excellence in 2000. ARI undertakes research on plant and animal production to provide sustainable food production. It publishes results in journals and informs farmers. ARI has experimental stations across Cyprus and divisions covering areas like plant improvement, soil science, and biotechnology. It conducts research projects, maintains plant material, rears beneficial insects, and provides training to students and farmers.

This document summarizes key findings from an ASTI survey of agricultural research and development (R&D) capacity and investment in Nepal. It finds that Nepal's total public agricultural R&D spending is low at 0.28% of agricultural GDP, and it has faced volatile spending over time. Human resource indicators also show insufficient agricultural researchers in Nepal compared to other countries, with only 15% having PhDs. The document summarizes previous agricultural research surveys conducted by ASTI in Central America and the Caribbean between 1997-2008. It then highlights some key findings from the 2007-2008 ASTI-IICA survey in Central America. There were 903 agricultural researchers located across 63 public agencies in Central America in 2006. Agricultural R&D spending in the region totaled $105 million in 2006, with Costa Rica and Nicaragua accounting for about one-third each. Government financing was the largest source of agricultural R&D funding overall at 37% while reliance on donors was highest in Nicaragua.
