The RAMR cycle is a 4 step process for learning that includes reality, abstraction, mathematics, and reflection. In reality, learners use local knowledge, prior experience, and kinaesthetic senses with their body, mind, and hands. In abstraction, creativity is used to develop language, symbols, and practice. Mathematics involves making connections. Reflection validates learning and applies it to problems through extension, flexibility, reversing, generalizing, and changing parameters.
