noh, performers wear a mask, but in kabuki,
they use face paint.

19. OPERA
- a dramatic work in one or
more acts with music and
instrumental accompaniment.
20. Peking Opera
- is also known as the Beijing opera. It is a stylized Chinese
form of opera dating from the late 18th century, in which
speech, singing, mime and acrobatics are performed to an
instrumental accompaniment. The opera artists’ goal is to
make every performance beautiful in every movement
will make.
23. Two divisions of musical
instruments in Peking Opera:
Wenchang
-is mainly there to
accompany the singing of
the actors and actresses.
Whuchang
- is there to accompany the
acting, dancing and fighting.
29. Shadow Puppet Theater
- is a well-known Indonesian theater popular
only in their own country but spread in several
countries around the world.
30. Wayang Kulit
- (in Central Java) is one of the oldest
traditions of storytelling in the world which
includes the use of puppet materials and
background musical accompaniment to make
interesting to the audience.
31. The Performance
The audience is the most important person in a
Wayang Kulit performance.
Dalang - is the puppeteer. He is characterized
his being creative, humorous and flexible. He
manipulates the puppets, sing and taps out
signals to the orchestra.
