The artist explores the concept of women as warriors through her Ancient Warrior Torso series. She represents lessons learned and rebuilt through torsos that have been buried or destroyed. Each torso has its own voice representing a woman's experiences and ability to conquer tragedy. The use of sewing patterns references the history and psychology the viewer associates with them. Through the transforming process of applying plaster and other materials, the individual torsos become a collective representing the power of woman as warrior.
