This document discusses the art of work according to Vedic teachings. It begins by establishing that humans are spiritual souls distinct from the material body. The material world is like a prison for the soul, who originally comes from the spiritual world. Work can either elevate the soul or degrade it, depending on whether it is performed according to religious principles or for sense gratification. The document provides guidelines for performing work in a holy way by offering it to God, working dutifully without attachment to results, remembering God through chanting, and avoiding sinful activities. Proper work done in this spirit can help the soul be liberated from material existence and return to the spiritual world.
This document discusses how modern society is facing increasing problems like violence, drug addiction, unemployment, and terrorism. It notes rising crime rates and prison populations in countries like the US. It asks whether societies are truly advancing in the right direction. The document suggests that godless societies cannot be peaceful, and that one must know God to find peace. It encourages learning about God from scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita to understand how to live according to God's will and laws of nature.

This document presents arguments for the existence of God based on observations of order, design and complexity in the universe. It notes that organized systems like the human body, solar system and atomic structures demonstrate amazing order. It argues that flowers, trees and other natural objects show design that is not by chance. Similarly, it claims the human brain is too sophisticated to have been formed by random processes. The document concludes that just as advanced machines and structures require intelligent designers, the highly organized universe must have an intelligent creator as its source.

When God speaks or gave the command Be It, the Creation came into being and the creative elements and all creative forces are under His control. The Word of God controls the entire creation. His creation obeys His command. But when we speak, the Fire Element is not in our control and so is the case with the other functions as well as the deities at the intermediate level. This is the beginning of our sorrows because as image of God we do not reflect the properties of the Original.

It states that according to Jain science, the universe is comprised of six universal substances - soul, matter, space, time, dynamic medium, and stationary medium. It describes the Jain view of reality as a combination of soul and matter. Karma is said to occur due to ignorance and is the cause of bondage for souls. The ultimate goal in Jainism is to free the soul from karma through rational perception, knowledge, and conduct. The five main vows of Jainism - nonviolence, truthfulness, non-stealing, sexual purity, and non-possession - are also summarized.
This document discusses spiritual science and development. It explains that energy powers nature and functions, and that the body and soul should be equally developed. It describes three worlds - of ether, air, and water - and notes that an invisible soul visits Earth while the body remains. After death, actions are evaluated and one may go to heaven, hell, or achieve moksha/salvation. It emphasizes working with positive thoughts, as actions will be judged by intentions. Vibrational meditation can help understand spiritual science and achieve the soul's goal of visiting Earth. The organization's objectives are to educate on spiritual science, guide vibrational meditation, and help the soul complete its journey from the invisible zone to Earth and back.
Swami #Vivekananda Bengali: , Shāmi Bibekānondo; 12 January 1863 – 4 July 1902), born #Narendranath Datta, was an Indian Hindu monk, a chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of# Vedanta and #Yoga to the Western world and is credited with raising #interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century. He was a major force in the revival of Hinduism in India, and contributed to the concept of nationalism in colonial India. Vivekananda founded the #Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission. He is perhaps best known for his speech which began, "Sisters and brothers of America ...," in which he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893.
Born into an aristocratic Bengali family of Calcutta, Vivekananda was inclined towards spirituality. He was influenced by his Guru, Ramakrishna Deva, from whom he learnt that all living beings were an embodiment of the divine self; therefore, service to God could be rendered by service to mankind. After Ramakrishna's death, Vivekananda toured the Indian subcontinent extensively and acquired first-hand knowledge of the conditions prevailing in British India. He later traveled to the United States, representing India at the 1893 Parliament of the World Religions. Vivekananda conducted hundreds of public and private lectures and classes, disseminating tenets of Hindu philosophy in the United States, England and Europe. In India, Vivekananda is regarded as a patriotic saint and his birthday is celebrated there as National Youth Day.
The document discusses the key principles of Sanatan-Dharma, also known as Hinduism. It explains that Sanatan-Dharma means the eternal religion and is the correct name. The six pillars of Sanatan-Dharma are outlined as truthfulness, compassion, austerity, cleanliness, charity, and spiritual education. Key scriptures are also mentioned such as the Bhagavad-Gita and various Puranas. The Bhagavad-Gita is described as the main scripture that contains wisdom from God. Some of the teachings from the Bhagavad-Gita are summarized around concepts like karma, the eternal nature of the soul, and living a life dedicated to attaining love
The document discusses whether destiny can be changed through karma. It states that one's birth and experiences are the result of past karma that must be experienced (enjoyed or suffered). It defines different types of karma - sanchit, kriyamaan, prarabdh - and explains how good deeds in current life can dilute the effects of past bad karma and enhance past good karma. It also defines bhagya or destiny as pre-decided life events based on one's birth chart. Methods to change destiny mentioned include charity, prayers, meditation, taking diksha from a guru, and avoiding vices like lust and anger.
This document discusses the Buddhist concept of samsara, or the continuous cycle of rebirth. It explains that rebirth is driven by craving and attachment, and outlines the six realms where rebirth can occur - heavenly, human, animal, hungry ghost, hell, and demi-god realms. Each realm is associated with particular types of suffering. The document also discusses the four nutriments that sustain the cycle of rebirth - physical food, sense contact, volitional formations, and consciousness. Breaking the attachments that lead to further rebirth is seen as the path to liberation from samsara.
Krishna Voice is an English monthly newsletter published by ISKCON Bangalore. One of the objectives of our temple is to increase Krishna Consciousness in the community. Through this newsletter, we want to promulgate the message of the Vedic scriptures like Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam.
This document discusses how to control the mind through chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. It states that most thoughts are negative and random. By chanting the 16 words of the Hare Krishna mantra, one can counteract the contaminations of Kali Yuga and control the mind. It recommends regulating the senses to gain control over the mind and intelligence. Chanting experiences a higher taste than sense gratification and cleanses the heart. When chanting, Krishna takes charge of one's life, thoughts, and mind, bringing peace.
This is a short explanation of the course "Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul" by Master Choa Kok Sui's school of Pranic healing and Arhatic Yoga. This course is open for all and is highly advised for anyone seeking a spiritual calling.
The document is an excerpt from a spiritual text guiding meditation aspirants. It discusses overcoming attachment to the body and identity. It advises visualizing one's own death to overcome fear and attachment. It suggests imagining the body's funeral and corpse to help realize that physical existence is temporary and does not define one's true self. The goal is to attain liberation from rebirth's cycle of suffering.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
