the architectural services when Beneficial Savings Bank moved its entire back office operations into the Penn
Mutual Building located at 510-530 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
The Bank moved operations from four building spread throughout Center City and a function in South
Philadelphia and landed in 90,000 slf of space in Penn Mutual on several floors. Ann was able to create space

…this was an extensive restoration, involving some 250,000 square feet and directly affecting over 90% of
the employees. It involved office, laboratory and cafeteria spaces. Her team was able to quickly determine
the specific needs of the various work groups through direct employee interviews and space
inspections. They then designed layouts using modern office and laboratory furnishings that met the
workers needs, were easier to maintain, and if needed, simple to modify. They also developed a
workable and efficient plan to roll through the work with minimum disruption to the employees daily
work flow. The result was a more efficient, clean and functionally supportive work environment. In
addition, Ann Hoffman's direct and frequent involvement with the development and delivery of design
