elected ARIN Advisory Council (AC) as the primary
facilitators of the process”
1. Work with author on proposals
Ensure clarity and valid problem statement
2. Work on Draft Policies
Gather input from the community and present to
community
3. Work on Recommended Draft Policies
Find to be fair and impartial, technically sound, and
supported by community; recommend adoption,
present to community
4. Review Last Call
5. Recommend to the Board of Trustees
AC Role in the PDP
• 2015 so far
– Advanced 3 Recommended Drafts to the
ARIN Board (all have been adopted and
implemented)
– Abandoned 4 Draft Policies
– 11 new proposals turned into Drafts
– Two Public Policy Consultations at NANOG
– Two ARIN Public Policy Meetings
• 11 items currently on our docket

• Staff Policy and Experience Report
– 2015-4: Modify 8.2 section to better reflect
how ARIN handles reorganizations
• Result of previous policy experience report
– Topics discussed on current report needing
input on possible proposals
• Issuing prefixes longer than /24
• IPv4 Address block swapping
• 8.2 Transfer “return” language

• Fellowship and Outreach Programs
– Focus on IPv4 depletion & IPv6 education
– Promote participation in ARIN Meetings
– 6 events completed, 1 scheduled
• Improve PPC Format
– Eliminated PPC during joint October meeting
• Community Feedback
– Experimenting with digital polling at this meeting
• NRPM Simplification
– Are people ready for an omni-proposal or are
individual changes still needed now that the free
pool is depleted? Need your input
