This paper proposes a blind quality algorithm to analyze streaming video content in 5G networks. The algorithm detects common streaming errors like color degradation, frozen frames, and packet loss. It is included in a "Quality Probe" application that operates as a virtual network function and sends quality reports. The algorithm was tested on sequences with different impairments from a video quality database. It successfully detected packet loss, color errors, and frozen frames. The results validate the algorithm and show the need for intelligent network nodes to monitor quality and adapt transmissions to improve users' experience in 5G networks. Future work includes additional metrics, processing time analysis, and testing in a real network.

This paper presents a load testing of the HELIDEM geo-portal, which is an example of interoperability between a numbers of standard geospatial services as defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium. The portal was developed within the European project HELIDEM (www.helidem.eu) with the aim of valorizing the main project output which is a cross-border digital terrain model. The portal aims at fostering its diffusion and usage trough easily accessible tools. The DTM covers the alpine area located between Southern Switzerland (Canton Ticino) and Northern Italy (Lombardy and Piedmont Regions). From a technological point of view, the server-side component of the portal is based on a Service Oriented Architecture implemented using the open source software Zoo-Project, GRASS GIS and Geoserver; the client-side component is a Web interface based on CSS3 and HTML5 trough the usage of the ExtJS framework and the OpenLayers software. The presented solution is a mix of technologies and software, some of which are considered, within the open source for geospatial community, mature and robust while others are considered promising but not sufficiently tested yet. For this reason this research conducted a load test over concurrent users in order to verify the robustness, quality and performance of the system and to identify eventual bottlenecks. Test results didn’t register any exception confirming the good quality of the implemented system and underlying software. Nevertheless, performance and response time exponentially degrades with increasing number of concurrent users, area of analysis and process complexity. Finally, the test confirms that system is robust, in fact no system failure was recorded during the analysis.

It’s all about finding solutions—not just problems. Testers must transition from reporting “app crashes” to providing details such as “memory leak caused by bad cache implementation.” Instead of reporting “it’s slow,” testers must discover “wrong hibernate configuration causes too much traffic from the database.” Using three real-life examples, Andreas illustrates what it takes for testing teams to become part of the DevOps transformation—bringing more value to the entire organization.

This study introduces a method that will reduce the troubles to in diagnosing the computer hardware failures. An expert intelligent system using the rule-based technique is introduced to diagnose computer hardware failures. User or computer technician no need to check a part of computer hardware, one by one to diagnose computer hardware failure. User or computer technician just need to select category and the symptom or fact into a system, then a system will diagnose a computer hardware failure. The implementation includes types of computer hardware failure, computer condition, rules, and the solution that used in the flow chart technique and rule-based expert systems software. There are nine categories of computer hardware failure: power supply, hard drive, video, monitor, ATA drive, DVD, CD and Blu-ray playback, sound, motherboard, CPU and RAM. The results and analysis presented are computer hardware failure, conditions, rules, and solutions that used in the decision tables technique. Besides that, an analysis of the outputs and explanation about data mining by Weka engine are included to evaluate results. The testing for outputs is from black-box test and user acceptance test to evaluate the capability of study in diagnosing computer hardware failures in all conditions. Besides that, this study also showed that time is less to diagnose computer hardware failure when used expert system, than diagnose computer hardware failure manually
