3. Jean Nouvel
Jean Nouvel was born on 12 August 1945 in Fumel, France.
His parents wanted him to pursue a stable career in education or engineering.
Nouvel had a passion for art since he was 16 years old.
Nouvel won a national competition to study Architecture at the prestigious École des
Beaux-Arts in 1965
In 1967 he worked as assistant to Claude Parent and Paul Virilio, two influential figures in
Modernist and urbanist design.
4. In 1972,Nouvel completed his degree in architecture in 1972, when he was 25 years old.
Co-founder of the French Architectural Movement "Mars 1976“ and later of the Syndicat
de l’architecture in 1977.
1984 - 1989 Founder of Jean Nouvel et Associés (Jean Nouvel, Jean-Marc Ibos, Myrto
Vitart, Emmanuel Blamont).
1989 - 1994 Founder of JNEC (Jean Nouvel and Emmanuel Cattani).
1994 Establishes Ateliers Jean Nouvel.

in Paris and offices in Rome, Geneva, Madrid, and Barcelona.
