The RTA has released an image of the eight-lane bridge that will carry Sheikh Zayed Road over the Dubai Canal. Traffic diversions will be put in place on October 25th as work will affect an 800m stretch of the road. The bridge is part of the first phase of the Dubai Canal project, which is costing over $136 million. A $104.5 million contract was issued for the second phase of the project to link Dubai Creek to the Arabian Gulf, with work finishing in late 2016. The canal will connect Business Bay and Dubai Creek to the Gulf when complete, passing over Sheikh Zayed Road, through Safa Park and Jumeirah 2.
