Training Program
For the Teachers of AP
• Tool development started in mid 2011, we took almost
2 years to develop the tool. Launched in late 2013.
• Pilot test was done on tier 1, 2, 3 level school students.
As on date 31,100+ students have taken iDC online
assessment.
• 4 stage pilot test has been done on the tool
– Stage 1: On a sample size of 700 students
– Stage 2: On a sample size of 1400 students
– Stage 3: On a sample size of 7100 students
– Stage 4: On a sample size of 210 career professionals
iDC Assessment tool History
• Aptitude Test – CHC theory (Carroll’s model)
– 3 stratum structure of intelligence (Narrow, Broad & general
ability)
– Proposes large number of distinct individual differences in
cognitive abilities
– CHC theory narrowed down to Numerical, Verbal, Mechanical,
Spatial & Reasoning aptitude.
– Research evidence indicates these abilities play significant role
in influence performance across different career profiles
Theories behind the tool (1/3)
• Personality Test – Five Factor Model (Big 5
factor model)
– Comprises of 5 personality dimensions: Openness
to experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion,
Agreeableness and Neuroticism.
– This model has highest correlation across jobs and
careers.
Theories behind the tool (2/3)
• Interest Test – Holland’s theory of Vocations
(RIASEC)
– Individuals across cultures can be divided into 6
interest types – RIASEC.
– People can be categories into 1 or more than 1
type.
Theories behind the tool (3/3)
• Reliability statistic of the tool has been calculated using
Cronbach Alpha.
– Aptitude Test - ɑ= 0.64
• Item Difficulty and Point Biserial (p values) were also calculated for
each items (90% items were in the acceptable scores)
– Personality Test - ɑ= 0.79
– Interest Test - ɑ= 0.78
• Desirable range of acceptability for C.Alpha is between
0.6-0.9.
iDC Assessment testing parameters
Aptitude – Total 5 factors (timer based)
• Verbal Aptitude, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning Aptitude, Spatial
and Mechanical Aptitude
Personality – Total 5 factors
• Learning/Experiential Orientation, Interpersonal, Emotional,
attitudinal, Conscientiousness orientation
Interest – Total 6 factors
• Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and
Conventional
Total 16 factors are being tested in our assessment tool which
come out with a customised 16 page career report
iDC Assessment Tool Areas:
Where all the tool has been used?
• Delhi Government – 5 lakh+ students have taken the assessment in Delhi
Govt. schools over 2 academic years.
• Andhra Pradesh Government – Funded by AP govt, the tool has been taken
by 2.5 lakh students of class 9.
• UNICEF – 40,000+ students have taken it in Rajasthan and Gujarat State.
• CBSE Pvt Schools – ISM, Muscat, Sunbeam group, MSMSV Jaipur and over
100+ schools in India and the Middle East.
• Various other organization: Uber, E&Y Foundation, Bharti Foundation, Hero
Group, Shiv Nadar Foundation, Magic Bus India etc.
A total of 21.5 lakh+ Students have taken this assessment now.
