Overview of APEC CCS Program
 In 2003, the EGCFE initiated multi-phase carbon capture
and storage (CCS) program, led by Canada:
Theme I – studies to assess the potential for CO2 capture and
geological storage in the APEC region
Theme II – activities to raise awareness of and build capacity in
CO2 capture and geological storage in APEC
 This CCS initiative is designed to assist non-industrialized
APEC members to successfully identify, evaluate and
develop CO2 capture and geological storage opportunities in
their economies
