One of my goals for 2014 is become a professional speaker. Today I share a little about my progress and success. I hope my story will be inspire you to accomplishing your dreams.
There are several factors that are the right foundation for success. Today I share three from my experience and hope to hear from you about other factors that you consider the key foundation for success.
Last Wednesday I delivered a speech titled “Success” to an enthusiastic group at the Centre of Education and Training in Brampton, Ontario. I opened my speech with the following quote:
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt
And then I said success belongs to those:
a. with a clear vision and specific goals
b. willing to lose fear, willing take action and have a fierce desire and determination to succeed
c. who foster positive and meaningful relationships
Today I have decided to share with you a bit of my speech.

Grow rich! with peace of mind - the law of attractionCHIRAGCHAUHAN72
Think and Grow Rich was written by Napoleon Hill in 1937 and promoted as a personal development and self-improvement book. He claimed to be inspired by a suggestion from business magnate and later-philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books.
Today I would like to share my thoughts on the power of you believing in yourself. The foundation of all success is the awesome power believing in yourself and self-confidence.
Goals
Leaders are ordinary people who accept or are placed under extraordinary circumstances that bring forth their latent potential, producing character that inspires the confidence and trust of others. Our world today is in desperate need of such individuals.
In his renowned play Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare wrote, “There is a tide in the affairs of men.” With these words, he was expressing his observation that the waves of history have an influence on our lives. It’s as if we as individuals and nations are caught up in a tide of providential events. There have been eras in the history of the world in which multiple tide-like influences have impacted our civilizations and cultures at nearly the same time. These historical incidents are known as “crossroads of history.” I would suggest that we are now at a confluence of historic tides.
The twentieth century saw perhaps more distressing developments than any previous century, including devastating wars, monstrous new weapons, countless natural disasters, and fatal diseases. It was also possibly the most unpredictable, politically interesting, and revolutionary of any century in history. In the last several decades, a relatively short span of time, the world has experienced many remarkable changes in the realms of science, technology, medicine, and space exploration, as well as hundreds of other so-called advancements. We must agree that our generation lives in a swirling tide of events, dreams, promises, threats, and changing ideas about the present and the future. The conditions of our world press the present generation to ask anew, “Why am I here? What is the purpose of life? Why are life and reality the way they are?”
You need to be that voice in the background, whispering words of encouragement into their ears. These people now rise to a higher level of achievement which they would not have experienced without your involvement.
Today I share a little about caring for others. Care, compassion and kindness were virtues imparted on me by mother. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge provided me with a vehicle to share my mother’s legacy of caring with others.
Today I share some of my experience about being a small business owner. I talk about risks and uncertainties, being prepared for new opportunities and about surrounding yourself with a delightful team.

My daughter just returned from a recent trip to New Orleans to explore opportunities to continue her post-secondary training to become a pastry chef. Today I share some my text messages to her with the hope that you will share in the excitement of my wife and I as well as you may be inspired to dream and take actions to fulfill your goals.
Today I share with you my experiences of simple acts of kindness last Friday. I believe that through simple acts of kindness we are able to remain hopeful in humanity during period of despair and sadness.
To day I share my thoughts on great expectations. In this blog I share a little twist of fate on how agreeing to do a presentation on Bitcoin for one of our Top Banks may blossom into much more than I expected. Great expectations for achieving your dreams is about the power of believing in yourself. It is about walking away from naysayers and not allowing your fears to stop you.
Today I used my blog post on McKenzie's Voice to launch a campaign to help the homeless and hungry as I share my thoughts on five key attributes of effective and extraordinary leaders. My goal is to raise $2,000 for Regeneration’s Coldest Night of the Year Campaign by February 22, 2014. Commencing today, Monday, February 3, 2014 I will walk 2K daily, 5K on Saturday and Sundays and on February 22, 2014 I will walk and run 10K. However, I want to do a little more to test the attributes of effective and extraordinary leadership. To this end, I am committing to spend the entire night of February 22, 2014 outdoors in the cold in solidarity with the homeless.
Today I share my thoughts with you about discovering your talents in 2014. Discovering your talents does not mean this how you will make a living. It is about making time to do the things that you are good at doing and most importantly doing the things that make you feel fulfilled, purposeful and authentic.
As we approach the end of 2013, I encourage you to think possibilities and not impossibilities. In 2014, be prepared to turn the impossible into possible. Look at what you accomplished in 2013 especially what you once thought could never be done. Are you amazed you once thought it was impossible? In 2014, take some risks and be fearless, control the things you can control and think outside the box. Think possibilities and not impossibilities.
Today I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family and all the members of Toastmasters Clubs in the cities of Brampton and Mississauga for their generous support and encouragement in making my Holiday Season Food Drive a resounding success. The joy of giving and supporting someone’s dream is indescribable and awesome but I could not have done it without you.
The joy of giving and being able to support someone’s dream to have food and eat this holiday season has led to a sense of contentment that is indescribable. Today I share with you ways to ensure that you make a difference in 2014. If you want to make a difference in 2014 do the following:
• Create a domino effect
• Be you and be passionate about making a difference
• Accept your vulnerabilities and unlimited capacity

1. Anything is Possible
Last week one of my friends told me that his goal in life is to make a lot of money. I quickly pointed out
that making tons of money is not a realistic goal but anything is possible.
Last week Canadian archaeologists reported that they had found one of the legendary Victorian explorer
Sir John Franklin's lost ships in good condition off Nunavut Coast in Arctic. Prime Minister Stephen
Harper noted that "this is truly a historic moment for Canada." The British naval hero and his two ships
and crew disappeared in 1845 while searching for the fabled passage through the Canadian Arctic to the
Pacific Ocean. More than 100 expeditions have since failed to find the ships, though sailors' remains and
artifacts have been found, triggering multiple theories about the crew's demise, from cannibalism to
lead poisoning. The discovery of the wreckage will likely boost Canada’s long-sought claim to the
Northwest Passage trade route while potentially answering one of the most enduring mysteries of the
Arctic. The persistent search for the wreckage and the announcement of its discovery shows that
anything is possible.
In one of my previous blogs titled “The Power of Believing in Yourself” I shared with you my goal to
becoming a professional motivational speaker and some the steps I have taken to make this a reality.
Today I am proud to let you know I am well on my way to achieving my goal. In July, I was the guest
speaker and facilitator at the Toastmasters District 81, Area 33 Club Officers Training in Port of Spain,
Trinidad. Remember success starts with having specific goals and an actionable plan. You have to
identify and communicate your goals and plan how to achieve them.
As Theodore Roosevelt said with self-discipline most anything is possible. To be successful you have to
focus on what you want to achieve. You have to know what you want, and then devise a path to
pursuing your passion. You have to set clear and specific goals. You also have to have a plan on how to
achieve your goals. A goal is a specific objective you want to achieve and your plan is the blueprint or
roadmap for achieving your goals.
Anything is possible when you are confident and assertive. The more experience you have the more
confident and assertive you will be. Seek out and acquire knowledge related to your goals. Get a mentor
or coach as well as participate in network or mastermind groups. As Howard Schultz said when you are
surrounded by people who share a passionate commitment around a common purpose, anything is
possible.
With effective communication skills anything is possible. Work on your communication skills. Get
involved in your community. In the cities of Brampton and Mississauga, I am involved in a number of
community activities such as school council, youth mentoring. I am a volunteer are the Regeneration
Outreach Community of Brampton that cares for the homeless and those at-risk at being homeless. I am
also the founder and coordinator for the Holiday Season Food Drive that collected more than 2,000
pounds of non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army of Brampton. These are all things you can
do to boost your confidence and become more assertive.
2. With dreams and passion anything is possible. I tell my friends that they should have big dreams like
Elon Musk from SpaceX. Read my blog “Elon Musk and SpaceX’s Goal Setting and Success.” Your
success starts with your dreams and desire. Success starts with your passion. You should aim to have fun
doing the things you are doing. If you have passion for the things you are doing and appears to be
having fun doing it you will get notice. Let me hasten to add that you don’t want to get notice like Ray
Rice, the former Baltimore Ravens NFL player or Desmond Hague the former chief executive of
Centerplate Inc. You want to be noticed and celebrated like Serena Williams who won her 6th US Open
and her 18th Grand Slam title at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
How about this? Getting noticed and celebrated like I am. In the middle of writing this blog, I received a
telephone call from Janice McDonald, Lt. Governor Education and Training, Toastmasters District 86,
informing me that I received my Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) Award. She invited me to attend the
Fall Conference in November to be publicly recognised with other DTM awardees.
You can show passion for the things you are doing by sharing your stories and experience with others so
that they too may cultivate a similar passion. For example, I use my blog McKenzie’s Voice to share my
personal stories and experiences from traveling and working in more than twenty countries. To all the
other dreamers out there, I encourage you as Adam Green said don't ever stop dreaming or let the
world's negativity disenchant you or your spirit. If you surround yourself with love and the right people,
anything is possible.
My goal is not make a lot of money but I believe anything is possible. Is your goal to make tons of
money? Like Roger Clemens, I think anything is possible if you have the mindset and the will and desire
to do it and put the time in.
What are your goals in life?
