The St Nedelya Church assault was a 1925 terrorist attack in Sofia, Bulgaria carried out by the Bulgarian Communist Party. During the funeral service for a general killed in a previous communist attack, the church's roof was blown up, killing 150 political and military elites and injuring 500 others. The attack targeted the country's elite and resulted in a crackdown on communist and anti-Bulgarian activities. The communists later gained power when the Soviet Union invaded Bulgaria and established a dictatorship.
