Hybridcloud & Multicloud with GCP Anthos.pptxHARSH MANVAR
This document discusses hybrid and multi-cloud strategies using Google Anthos. It defines hybrid and multi-cloud as using multiple cloud platforms, and lists advantages as risk reduction, leveraging different cloud technologies, and flexibility. Anthos is introduced as Google's solution for managing applications across on-premises and cloud environments through a common control plane and configuration management. Key features of Anthos discussed include GitOps-style configuration, service mesh for traffic management, and tools for development, deployment and operations across environments.
This document provides an overview of Kubernetes, an open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. It describes Kubernetes' architecture including nodes, pods, replication controllers, services, and networking. It also discusses how to set up Kubernetes environments using Minikube or kubeadm and get started deploying pods and services.
In this session, we will discuss the architecture of a Kubernetes cluster. we will go through all the master and worker components of a kubernetes cluster. We will also discuss the basic terminology of Kubernetes cluster such as Pods, Deployments, Service etc. We will also cover networking inside Kuberneets. In the end, we will discuss options available for the setup of a Kubernetes cluster.
Kubernetes is a platform for managing containerized workloads and services that provides a container-centric management environment. It aims to provide high utilization, high availability, minimize fault recovery time, and reduce the probability of correlated failures through a declarative job specification language, name service integration, real-time job monitoring, and analyzing and simulating system behavior using APIs and dashboards. Kubernetes can manage 100,000s of jobs, 1000s of applications across multiple clusters each with 10,000s of machines.
This document provides an overview of Karpenter, an open-source node provisioning project for Kubernetes. It discusses how Karpenter watches for unschedulable pods and provisions nodes that meet pods' requirements, such as resource requests and node selectors. It also covers why Karpenter is useful compared to other autoscaling solutions like Cluster Autoscaler, and how Karpenter integrates with AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to dynamically provision EC2 instances on demand. The presentation includes a demonstration of Karpenter in action.

Enterprises have benefited greatly from the elastic scalability and multi-region availability by moving to AWS, but the fundamental deployment model remains the same.
At Intuit, we have adopted k8s as our new saas platform and re-invented our CI/CD pipeline to take full advantage of k8s. In this presentation, we will discuss our journey from Spinnaker to Argo CD.
1. Reduce CI/CD time from 60 minutes to 10 minutes.
2. Reduce production release (or rollback) from 10 minutes to 2 minutes.
3. Enable concurrent deployment using spinnaker and argo cd as HA/DR to safely adopt the new platform with no downtime.
4. Be compatible with the existing application monitoring toolset.

This document introduces Docker Compose, which allows defining and running multi-container Docker applications. It discusses that Docker Compose uses a YAML file to configure and run multi-service Docker apps. The 3 steps are to define services in a Dockerfile, define the app configuration in a Compose file, and run the containers with a single command. It also covers topics like networking, environment variables, and installing Docker Compose. Hands-on labs are provided to learn Compose through examples like WordPress.

Kubernetes Helm makes application deployment easy, standardized and reusable. Use of Kubernetes Helm leads to better developer productivity, reduced Kubernetes deployment complexity and enhanced enterprise production readiness.
Enterprises using Kubernetes Helm can speed up the adoption of cloud native applications. These applications can be sourced from open-source community provided repositories, or from an organization’s internal repository of customized application blueprints.
Developers can use Kubernetes Helm as a vehicle for packaging their applications and sharing them with the Kubernetes community. Kubernetes Helm also allows software vendors to offer their containerized applications at “the push of a button.” Through a single command or a few mouse clicks, users can install Kubernetes apps for dev-test or production environments.
Installing and Using Kubernetes is hard, but Operating Kubernetes is even harder! This BOF is for Kubernetes Operators to get together and discuss our day to day Operations, and for people new to Kubernetes to learn more about how to operate it.

Build applications with generative AI on Google CloudMárton Kodok
We will explore Vertex AI - Model Garden powered experiences, we are going to learn more about the integration of these generative AI APIs. We are going to see in action what the Gemini family of generative models are for developers to build and deploy AI-driven applications. Vertex AI includes a suite of foundation models, these are referred to as the PaLM and Gemini family of generative ai models, and they come in different versions. We are going to cover how to use via API to: - execute prompts in text and chat - cover multimodal use cases with image prompts. - finetune and distill to improve knowledge domains - run function calls with foundation models to optimize them for specific tasks. At the end of the session, developers will understand how to innovate with generative AI and develop apps using the generative ai industry trends.
