QQA Annual Report and Greater Little Rock Preservation Awards 2014 quapawquarter
At its annual membership meeting in October, 2014, the QQA presented an annual report and the Greater Little Rock Preservation Awards. Award of Merit recipients include: Argenta branch of the William F. Laman Public Library System, the Clinton Foundation, Stone's Throw Brewing, Donna Thomas and the Wright Avenue Neighborhood Association, J. Chandler and Company. Rachelle Walsh was presented with the Peg Smith Award, and Carolyn Newbern was given the Jimmy Strawn Award.
2020 Seaman High School Scholastic Award Recipientsleducbra
Congratulations to the following nine students for having their artwork accepted into the 2020 Regional Scholastic Art Show in Wichita. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation's longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual and literary arts. Seaman High School had 12 works selected this year. Silver and Gold Key works will be exhibited at Mark Arts from Friday, February 7 through Saturday, March 28. Gold Key recipients will be honored at the award ceremony held at the Mark Arts in Wichita on Saturday, March 28. Honorable Mention recipients will receive certificates during the opening of the exhibition on February 7.

Lecture: Bowling Against Hunger in L.A. (Lower Alabama)
Percy, teaching in a split between 3D Studio and Art Education at Troy University, will chronicle the birth and early growth of a "collaboration rich" Empty Bowls initiative serving Pike County and surrounding areas in rural south Alabama. Strong partnership between higher ed and underserved K-12 schools highlighted.
