Ansel Adams was born in 1902 and was an only child. He taught himself piano at age 12 and focused on music until changing to photography around age 24. His first camera was given to him by his father. In 1927, he published his first portfolio titled "Parmelian Prints of the High Sierras". Adams co-founded the photography group called Group f/64 with other famous photographers. He died in 1984 at the age of 82 from a heart attack.
