Ansel Adams was an American photographer known for his landscape photographs of the American West. He was born in 1902 in San Francisco and first visited Yosemite National Park in 1916, which inspired him to take up photography. Adams developed his famous zone system technique for controlling exposure and development. He founded the Group f/64 with other photographers to promote their aesthetic ideals. Adams is best known for his black and white photographs of Yosemite National Park.
