Lawrence embarked on his first contract from June 2012 to November 2012, gaining experience across multiple departments on board two cruise ships, the Quest for Adventure and Saga Sapphire. Over this period, he worked a total of 403.5 hours, spending time in areas like the galley, dining room, provisions, and reception. Lawrence determined that he was most interested in pursuing a career in food and beverage.

- 1. 1ST CONTRACT (JUNE2012 – NOVEMBER 2012)

JUNE 2012 Embarkthe Quest for Adventure (shown in the above picture) 223 Hours worked in total for the month Experience gained in : Crew Office, Reception, Shorex, Cruise Department, Housekeeping, Public Rooms, Restaurant, Provisions, Galley and the Pursers Office. Lawrence was able to spend a few days within each of these departments where he decided that the right path for him was Food and Beverage.

JULY 2012 uest forAdventure 74.5 Hours worked xperience gained in : Lawrence continued to work in the Pursers Office for a week and then worked in the galley for the remaining month where he rotated around the kitchen to gain basic experience in all areas. He was able to work in the cold pantry, butchery, fishmonger, roast, veg, potatoes, hot appetiser, dish washer, pot wash, soup, sauces, pastry, bakery and the verandah.

AUGUST 2012 uest forAdventure 10 Hours worked xperience gained in : Mainly Food and Beverage again however Lawrence was required to work with the bar staff on board and in the Provisions Department. Mid way through the month he disembarked the Quest for Adventure and joined the Saga Sapphire for a week where he also worked in the Provisions Department.
- 5. SEPTEMBER 2012 ead Officeand Saga Sapphire 08 Hours worked Experience gained in : Lawrence spent some time in head office and then was able to go home for a period of time before embarking the Saga Sapphire's Crew Office.
- 6. OCTOBER 2012 Saga Sapphire 79Hours worked xperience gained in : The galley, filming and the dining room. Lawrence worked every single day throughout October and this shows his commitment to pursuing a career in this industry.
- 7. NOVEMBER 2012 aga Sapphire 9Hours worked xperience gained in : Lawrence spent the majority of his time on the reception desks where he was able to really connect with the guests.
