Financing of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
(MSMEs) in India: Present status and Gaps.

Objectives of the study
Following are the main objectives of the study:
1. To examine and analyze the trend of finances made to MSMEs sector by various
financial institutions (Commercial/Regional Rural/Co-operative Bank, Small Industries
Development Bank of India, SFCs/SIDCs: State Financial/State Industrial
Development Corporations and NABARD)
2. To study the financial structure pattern of MSMEs.
3. To analyze the cost of capital of MSME’s like rate of interest and transaction cost
involved in obtaining funds from various sources.
4. To analyze the perception of MSME’s entrepreneurs about the financing schemes,
availability of finance, procedures, terms & conditions of credit of the financial
institutions.
5. To identify the gaps between the schemes and benefits taken by MSMEs from these
schemes.
Sources of Data, Sampling and Research Instrument
Population of the study would consist of MSMEs in Panipat and Gurgaon district Both
primary and secondary data will be used for the study. Primary data will be collected
from the owners/managers of 280 MSMEs in Panipat and Gurgaon .Secondary data will
be collected from published government reports, annual financial statement of MSME,
commercial banks, HFCs, SIDBI, earlier studies related to MSMEs, business dictionary,
journals and various web sites. A well-structured questionnaire will be administered to
collect responses.
Tools and techniques of data analysis
Primary data will be analyzed with the help of percentage, ratio, average, analysis of
variance (ANOVA) and other suitable parametric & non parametric statistical test
according to the nature of data to be collected. Other appropriate tools will be used as
per the requirement of the study.

Secondary data has been collected and analyzed
 Commercial banks (Public Sector Banks, Private Sector Banks including Small
Finance Banks, Foreign Banks, Co-operative Banks and Regional Rural Banks)
 SIDBI (SIDBI, Chandigarh branch)
 HFCs (HFC, Chandigarh)
Primary data:-
• Questionnaire has been developed with respect of Owners/Managers of MSMEs
located in Panipat and Gurgaon district of Haryana state.
• Total 236 responses have been received from the respondents engaged in
handloom & textiles sectors, Readymade Garments, flour mills and BPO/KPO’s.
• Data entry has been done and working on analyses using SPSS.
Paper presented and published:- “Analysis of Impact of Digitalization on Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India” at the National Seminar on Digital Transformation in
Business Organizations by Government College for Girls, Palwal, Kurukshetra.
“Analysis of Impact of Digitalization on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in
India” TSME JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT.
Introduction writing is completed.
Review of literature is completed
 Working on Research paper entitled
