Lern Conference 2012 Washington DC
This document discusses cardiac mechanics and the determinants of cardiac function. It describes excitation-contraction coupling at the molecular level, from the sarcomere to the whole heart. Key concepts covered include the contractile proteins actin and myosin, cross-bridge cycling during muscle contraction, and how this translates to force-length relationships at the sarcomere and whole heart levels. Diagrams illustrate the structural organization and interactions of contractile filaments and proteins that underlie the mechanisms of muscle contraction.
Tags are keywords or terms that are used to describe and categorize information, images, videos, and posts. They help users understand what the information is about and ensure it can be easily found by browsing or searching. Tags are useful for research because they help locate information on a topic and for organizing bookmarks. When tagging, it is best to keep it simple with 3-4 tags per piece of information, be consistent in tagging, and use only lowercase letters.
The document compares and contrasts the present perfect and past simple tenses. It provides examples of how each is used, noting that the past simple expresses a completed action at a specific point in time while the present perfect describes an unspecified action that occurred before now. Key differences are highlighted, such as the verb forms and time frames involved with each tense.
How To Create Compelling and Engaging Videos Lern Conference 2012 Joelle Norwood

This document describes several case studies that highlight low-cost carbon reduction opportunities through more efficient lighting and water delivery systems. Case studies of a Dutch dairy farm, fruit import warehouse, exhibition center, and multi-story car park showed energy savings from 70-68% and payback periods of 1.2-1.8 years by switching to more efficient lighting. Another case study found water delivery systems can also provide energy and emissions savings through more efficient designs.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have an opportunity to build new customer relationships in the lighting industry by providing smart lighting solutions with zero-configuration installation and end-to-end encryption to ensure security and privacy. These smart lighting solutions would allow OEMs to interact directly with customers and gain insights into customer needs that could help develop new product offerings.
This document outlines a student's drawing project where they were asked to create a self-portrait inspired by master artists. The student chose Dorothea Lange and Sally Mann as influences for their black and white self-portrait holding a camera. The student struggled with rendering hands and facial features but overcame challenges through refining and adding shadows. They were pleased with accomplishing this intimidating project and gaining a new understanding of dimensional objects and portraiture.
