• Detection of Galectin-3 on haptoglobin in human blood serum samples for early detection of
colorectal cancer in a non-invasive procedure.
o Detected Gal-3 using a multiplex bead array assay
Beads coupled to anti haptoglobin antibody.
o Acid treatment of serum samples for better availability of galectin-3 binding sites.
• Assay development and optimization for detecting microRNA in saliva for early detection of
cancer in a non-invasive procedure.
o Detected microRNA using electric field-induced release and measurement which then
relies on an electrochemical sensor for detection.
• Management and supervision over personnel in the lab.
