 For more than 30 years, Roderick Garcia, DMD, has practiced dentistry in
and around Albuquerque, New Mexico. Despite living in the Southwest,

 The term “dynasty” is used frequently in sports, though there is no precise
definition. The traditional sports dynasty wins multiple championships over
a short span of time, generally under the same coaching and
management leadership while fielding a relatively consistent roster.

 One of the more recent examples of a dynasty would be the New
England Patriots. Between 1960 and 2000 , the Patriots had made three
losing Super Bowl appearances. However, a year after hiring head coach
Bill Belichick and drafting quarterback Tom Brady in 2000, the franchise's
Super Bowl performance would vastly improve.

 After losing quarterback Drew Bledsoe to an early season injury, young
Tom Brady became the Patriot’s starting quarterback. Belichick coached
the team to an 11-5 record and their first ever Super Bowl victory. After a
disappointing 9-7 campaign in 2002 that saw New England fail to make
the playoffs, the Patriots achieved back-to-back 14-2 seasons on their
way to their second and third Super Bowl victories, effectively solidifying
the dynasty.

 Under Brady and Belichick, New England continued to be a contender in
the following seasons. Though New England did not win a fourth Super
Bowl championship until 2014, the team went 16-0 in 2007 and narrowly
lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants. The Patriots lost another close
Super Bowl contest in 2011, further complicating the exact length of their
dynasty.
