Asia Motor Works (AMW) is an automotive manufacturer located in Bhuj, Gujarat that produces commercial vehicles, auto components, and forged components. It has grown rapidly since being founded in 2002 by Anirudh Bhuwalka, becoming the third largest manufacturer in the HCV segment in India through innovative outsourcing of components. AMW employs a large local workforce and engages in corporate social responsibility initiatives in the communities around its manufacturing facility.

The fully integrated manufacturing facility of AMW

AMW has increased its presence in an increasingly
competitive market place through its products and
service network spread across the country.

Fully built trucks always have an edge over chassis
based trucks.
No role for local truck bodybuilding industries.

Support of central government is very poor,
government doesn’t show any interest in AMW’s
outsourcing approach.
In the 2012-2013 budget,no reduction in the customs
duty of parts sourced from abroad.
Strong backing of 17 billion dollar ESSAR group helps
AMW to keep investors in their control.

15. Social Responsibility
Employment:
AMW provides employment to a large number of
local residents. Unskilled workers have been given twin-sharing,
air-conditioned accommodation at the AMW Township.
Community Building:
AMW has engaged proactively with its
neighbouring communities through initiative such as school
renovations, providing study materials to students and imparting
vocational training.
Healthcare:
AMW has helped villagers dig borewells to provide
safe drinking water and also conducts medical camps for women
and children.
Environment:
AMW has taken up afforestation on a big scale,
having planted 100,000 trees already.
