American Samoa is a non-self-governing territory of the United States with a population of around 60,000 people living on 200 square kilometers of land and over 404,000 square kilometers of exclusive economic zone. As a non-self-governing territory listed by the UN since 1946, it remains administered by the United States, with the UN General Assembly adopting an annual resolution on American Samoa and the US providing information on its administration to the UN.
