2. Chemical Air Filtration What Type Of Adsorbent Media Works Best
For Your Application?
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is the universal choice
for eliminating and controlling odor causing gases and
vapors for most applications. Your AAF IAQ Professional
will help you determine the appropriate solution for your
odor problems.
AmerSorb PP: Potassium
Permanganate (KMnO4)
is effective in removing
compounds such as
sulfur compounds (acids),
formaldehyde, and oxides
of nitrogen. Typical instal-
lations include wastewater
treatment plants, pulp
and paper mills, airports,
and chemical plants.
AmerSorb CSC: 60%
(CTC) Activated Coconut
Shell Carbon effectively
removes odors associated
with diesel fumes, hydro-
carbons, tobacco smoke,
manufacturing processes,
cooking, and VOC's.
AmerSorb 50/50: Blend
(Potassium Permanganate
and GAC) is recommended
for applications, such as
loading docks near air
handling equipment (air
intake), where sulfur,
aldehydes and VOC's are
all present in the air stream.

Microelectronic Cleanroom Manufacturing
Nanotechnology
• Specified for new construction, retrofit, or replacement
of existing filters
• Suitable for removing Volatile Organic Compounds
(VOC's) from exhaust or intake air; eliminating internal
emission odors; and effectively recirculating
ventilation air
An Important Component of Improving Indoor
Air Quality in Commercial Buildings
Odor and chemical removal is a primary component
for improving Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in commercial
buildings. Removing gases, vapors, odors, and fumes
impacts human health and comfort level. A broad
selection of prefilters and high-efficiency final filters
are available to remove dust particulate and microbial
contaminants. To totally clean the air, however, odor
causing gases and vapors must also be removed.
While HEPA filtration is effective in removing the
smallest particles from the airstream, chemical
pollutants, including those that cause odors, are
too small to be contained by this style of filter.
AmerSorb™ filters, replaceable inserts, and
housings are the solution to your odor problems.

AmerSorb AG: Acid
Gas Activated Carbon
is typically used where
hydrogen sulfide and
other sulfur compounds
are present in heavier
concentrations in the air
stream. This media can be
used for corrosion control
operations including petro-
chemical applications.

3. AmerSorb™ MPV
Odor Removal
Extended
Surface Filters
• High Capacity AmerSorb CSC Filter
• Metal V-bank Design Provides Long Life
• Install in Built-up Front-Access Frame Banks
or Side Access Housings
• Select From AmerSorb CSC, AmerSorb PP,
AmerSorb 50/50, or AmerSorb AG
• Available in Two Standard Sizes:
Full Size 24 x 24 x 12
and Half Size 12 x 24 x 12
• Replaceable panels provide significant cost savings.
Most Rigid Construction in The Industry
AmerSorb MPV is a rigid, durable extended surface
filter that is built to last. The housing and activated
carbon insert panels together weigh up to 58 pounds.
The housing is made of 18-gauge cold-rolled steel
(CRS) and is covered with a black powder coat paint
finish. The AmerSorb MPV filter maintains superior
strength and corrosion resistance under the most
demanding operating conditions.
Easy Panel Replacement
AmerSorb MPV is unique in the industry because
each of its panels is completely replaceable. Both
the housing and insert panels are designed for
ease-of-use. The panel-locking grid contains four
nickel-plated quick release latches for easy access
to the insert panels. Permanently fixed tracks and
gaskets ensure precise alignment of the panels during
installation and reduce air bypass during operation.
Replacement has never been easier or more economical.
AmerSorb MPV
The V-Bank
configuration
provides greater
airflow capacity
and longer
service life.
V-Bank Structure Engineered
for Long Lasting Performance
Each AmerSorb MPV Housing holds eight replaceable
panels filled with your choice of AmerSorb media and
assembled into a series of four V-banks. The V-bank
construction creates substantially more surface
area in the filter to maximize effective odor removal
capability and reduce resistance to airflow. Each
insert pack is totally and economically replaceable.
This unique design delivers longer service life, effective
elimination of odors, and reduced maintenance costs.
Your Choice of Panels and Adsorbent Media
Multi-purpose V-banks can be filled with one of five types
of insertable panels. Choose the type that works best to
eliminate the gaseous odors in your specific application.

Incinerator or Shredder Disposal
The new AmerSorb P filter effectively removes
offensive odors. It is the ideal indoor air quality
solution for facilities seeking relief from irritating
odors, associated with cigarette smoke, food
preparation, and vehicle exhaust.
Engineered for Long Service Life
The specially treated media is pleated to
substantially increase the air cleaning surface
area and extend performance. The combination
media pack, with a dual layer of non-woven
polyester and carbon particles, is contained
in a die cut, moisture resistant beverage board
frame. The pack is sealed inside the frame to
prevent air bypass. The 4 version employs high
strength beverage board fingers for additional
carbon pleat support.
Each carton of filters is individually sealed in a
polypropylene bag to prevent odor adsorption
from occurring prior to installation.

AmerSorb™ AF-2000 Filter Housing
AmerSorb™ AF-2000 Housings are built for long service
life and convenience. Steel construction extends the life
of the housing and also provides superior corrosion
resistance. Units can be bolted together and stacked
to form a bank of filters for higher airflow applications.
Front access housings use a one-piece removable front
access grid assembly that is gasket sealed to prevent air
bypass. Some applications require the use of a side-
access carbon housing that has side-access doors for
easy and cost-effective replacement of the carbon trays.
