The Philippine Supreme Court issued AM No. 11-3-6-SC which amends the rules on service of summons on foreign juridical entities. The new rule allows for service on foreign entities' resident agents or government officials, or any of its officers within the Philippines. If the foreign entity is not registered locally or has no resident agent, service may be done outside the Philippines through various means such as personal service through foreign courts or publication. The amended rule takes effect 15 days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
