She received a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a minor in Business Administration from Mitchell College in 2015. Using the Milwaukee Art Museum as inspiration for writing and learning, in
Writing Leadership Across the Curriculum, we will
• Explore the advantages of writing workshop in all content areas.
• Focus on workshop structure as well as pre-writing, revision, editing
strategies, and writing assessment.
• Demonstrate writing-to-learn strategies that support student understanding
without increasing teaching workload.
• Explore ways to motivate students to become better and more powerful
writers.
• Demonstrate, for each other, the benefits of writing workshop and writing-tolearn
strategies in order to support other teachers.
• Work with your team, or individually, to develop an Action Plan to help other
teachers realize the benefits of writing-to-learn and writing workshop.
Students at Riverview Elementary in Farmington participated in a Science Fair Fair on Friday, February 25. Select entries advanced on to regional competition. The fair included students K-5, and is one example of building student interest in science for Farmington students.
In June 2014, seven teachers from Minnesota traveled to Bolivia as part of a teacher training & education project in Arani, Bolivia. This was the second year of this trip; in June 2013 nine teachers from Minnesota participated in the pilot project.
Debbie, one of the teachers that participated in the trip, made this quick powerpoint showing some pictures and highlighting some activities during her time in Bolivia.
A huge thanks to the community of Arani, Mano a Mano staff and volunteers, and the Minnesota teachers that worked very hard to make this training & education trip possible! We are looking forward to continuing with this project in the years to come!

This was a school program where students received work experience. Stocked and
cleaned shelves, cleaned fish tanks with one other co-worker in the program while
the program supervisor observed.
