This document tells a story about Aling Rosa and her daughter Pinang. Aling Rosa gets sick and Pinang has to take over the household chores. When Pinang cannot find a spoon one day, her mother scolds her to grow more eyes so she can find things. Later, Aling Rosa finds a strange plant that grows fruit shaped like heads with eyes. She realizes this is related to what she said to Pinang. She cares for the plant and names it after her daughter Pinang, and over time the fruit comes to be known as piña.
