Let the soul be bright. As you are my
words and mind be as an axis to my teaching. Don't waste my
question. In my spiritual practice I will make the day and night
as one. I pray the world in its beauty and rhythm. I pray the
truth which is the basic of this world. That will save me.
That will save the teacher. I pray once again the same. Save me.
Save the teacher.
Let there be peace in the three world.
First Chapter first para:
Author of this upanishad is Mahithasa Aithareyar. Hence this name.
He prays the earth and get this knowledge. This comes in Rukvetha
Aithareya Aranyagam Second chapter four five six paras.
One of the four major words “brahgnanam brahmam” is in this.
There is only one in the beginning(the soul). Nothing more than that. It
wishes to create the world. Then it creates the world. .......1.1.1
Those are “ambus, marisi, maram, aba”. Ambus is above the heaven.
Heaven is the basic for that. Marisi is having more sun light. It is
anthariksam. Maram is the place of death. Below that is aba.
(place of water). ..........1.1.2
Then soul things “these all are worlds, I will create the life in them.”
As the butter is taken away from the milk it creates the human being
from the basic five elements for which water is the origin. ........1.1.3
Then the soul is thinking further. By that thoughts the opening in
the mouth appears. from mouth the sound; from sound the fire.
Then appears the holes in the nostrils. from nostrils the breathing;
from breathing the air. Then comes the two holes for eyes. from
eyes sight; from sight the sun. The holes for ears come. from ears
hearing; from hearing the directions. Then comes the holes in the
skin. from holes hairs; from hairs trees and plants. Then the hole
for the hearts comes. from heart the mind; from the mind the moon.
Then the hole for anus. from anus the abanan. from abanan the
death. Then the hole for sex organ. from that the semen. from
semen the water. .........1.1.4
First chapter second para:
As created like this these energies (fire etc) fall in the ocean of
creation. The creator put all of them in hunger and thirst. They
ask Him where we can stay and eat our food please tell. .....1.2.1
He bring a cow to them. They are not satisfied. He bring a horse.
They are not satisfied. .....1.2.2.
He brings a man to them. “This is good. This human shape is
better for all good deeds.” “Enter your places as you wish” he tell....1.2.3
Agni (fire) becomes sound and enters mouth. Air becomes life and
enters nostrils. Sun becomes the sight and enters eyes. Directions
become hearing and enters ears. Moon become the mind and
enters the heart. Miruthyu (death) becomes abanan and enters
anus. Water become the semen and enters sex organ. .......1.2.4
Hunger and thirst ask give us a place. I will give place in all these
basic elements and you will have important role in them. He tell.
So whenever anything is given to these elements part of them will
go to hunger and thirst. .......1.2.5
First chapter third para:
These worlds and these lives are created like this. I will create
food for them, He thinks. .........1.3.1
He thinks the water. From water something comes out. That
is food. ........1.3.2
That food decides to hide itself. The creator tries to catch by
His mouth. But He cannot. If it is so one can satisfy himself
by simply speaking about that. .....1.3.3
Then He tries to catch it by his breathing. But He cannot. If it
is so one can satisfy himself by simply smelling that. ......1.3.4
He tries to catch it by His eyes. But He cannot. If it is so
one can satisfy himself by simply seeing it. .....1.3.5
He tries to catch it by His ears but He cannot. If it is so one
can satisfy himself by simply hearing about it. .....1.3.6
He tries to catch it by touching but He cannot. If it is so one can
satisfy himself by simply touching it.. .......1.3.7
He tries to catch by His mind. But He cannot. If it is so one can
satisfy himself by simply thinking about it. .........1.3.8
He tries to catch it by His sex organ but He cannot. If it is
so one can satisfy himself by simply excrete it from his body....1.3.9
He tries to catch it by (abanan) His mouth. It is caught. That
abana vayu (downward air current inside the body) is catching
the food. So food is the essential energy for the abanan. ....1.3.10
Without me how it will be He thinks. He plans to enter into it.
By sound, speaking; by air, breathing; by eyes, seeing; by ears,
hearing; by skin, touching; by mind, thinking; by abanan, eating;
by sex organs, excreting; are made means who am I? what is
my work? ......1.3.11
The creator then enters the body by piercing through the head.
Its name is vithruthi. It is the place of bliss. He is living in
three places. He is sleeping in three places. ........1.3.12
As it is broken into two it is “vithruthi”. The soul will go out
during death through this for Yogis. This is the open for the employer
(owner) to go out. Other openings are for employees (eyes ears etc.)
Fathers body, mothers body, and the body of self are the three
living places. Awakened, dream and sleep are the three sleeping
places. As the soul is in ignorance in these three places also
they are told as sleeping places.
After entered into this body he argues about the materialistic
things. How can he speak about other things? After getting
the wisdom he wonders that the brahmam is everywhere and
say I have found out that. ......1.3.13
As he has seen the God as “itham” (this, this body itself) he
is called as “ithanthran”. Ithanthran has become as Inthran.
It seems that Thevars are interested in hiding themselves......1.3.14
“The enlightened souls are becoming thevars in heaven.. Inthran
is the head of them.” it is the faith.
Second chapter:
In the beginning he (the soul) is in the shape of sperm in the
male. This sperm is having all the energies of all the parts
of the body. He produces himself inside the body. He gives
birth to himself when he leaves it to a woman. This is
the first birth. .......2.1
It settles inside the woman as if though it is the part of her.
it doesn't give any troubles to her. She nurtures the life
which is the soul of her husband. ..........2.2
She will also be taken care as she is caring about the soul
inside. She is carrying. He (the father) is taking care about his
son before and after his birth. He is only caring about himself.
This is to extent the worldly contact. Due to this ( births)
the link between the earlier and the future births are saved.
This is the second birth. ............2.3
As he is the soul of his own he represents his father for doing
rituals. The father's soul due to age after doing all his duties try
to begin his another journey. After some search he reaches
another womb. This is his third birth. .........2.4
Rishi tells: I know all my previous births when i am inside the
womb itself. Hundreds of iron forts binding me. But as the
eagle which breaks all the nets I have come out. When he
is inside the womb itself he tells this. ......2.5
In the ninth month after getting all the senses, organs for
wisdom and actions the soul thinks about his previous births.
He knows the blessings and the sins he has done. (karbo upanishad 3)
Not only Vamatheva but everybody is reaching this wisdom
during the ninth month as per this upanishad. But Vamathevar
remembers it even after coming out. But we forget. During
birth due to the touch of the air of Vishnu Maya the jeev forget
everything. (karbo upanishad 4)
Vishnu is the God of worldly things. He is followed in Bakthi
Marga (devotion).
Thus as he is a Gnani leaves his body and fulfill all his desires
and ambitions in the world of the soul and reach the eternal
life. .........2.6
Third Chapter:
By which one is seeing the objects, by which one is hearing
the sound, by which one is smelling the flavors, by which
one is speaking the sound, by which one is tasting the sweet
and bitter and which one is felt as the adma (soul) that “which”
is the soul (adma). What is the nature of that soul. .........3.1
Here what is called as heart and what is called as mind is only
that. Samsgnanam (feeling), Ajgnanam(ruling), Vignanam (Art)
Brahgnanam (feeling of existence), Methai (knowledge)
Thrusty (Seeing by mind), Thruthy (courage), Mathi ( memory)
Manisha ( stability), Juthy ( confusion), smurithy (remembering)
Sangalbam (ambition), krathu (determining), Ashu ( feeling of
living), Kamam (desire), Vasam ( attraction), all are only
various names of the feeling of existence. (the feeling of
that I am here now). ..........3.2
That is the Brahma, that is Indra, that is Brajabathy (Jupiter)
that is all other thevas. Earth, Air, Sky, Water, Fire, (the major
five basic elements), ordinary various living beings, sperms,
coming from eggs, coming from wombs, coming from sweating,
coming from seeds, horses, elephants, cows, birds, human beings
and all other living beings, movables, immovables, all are depending
upon the feeling of existence. They are established in Brahgnanam.
The entire world is running only in that brahgnanam. (the feeling
of that I am here). The world is establishing in that brahgnanam. so Brahgnanam Brahma.
Brahgnanam Brahma.
Brahgnanam Brahma (the feeling of existence is the God)
is one among the other four major words.
It is in Ruk Vetha.
Brahmaivahamasmi ( I am the God myself) (Aham Brahmasmi) is the another.
It is in Yajur vetha.
That thva masi ( that is this) is the third. That is what you
are searching as god. This is what you are feeling as God
inside you during meditation (fourth stage of consciousness).
It is in Sama vetha.
Ayamathma Brahma. (My soul is the God) is the fourth.
It is in Atharvana Vetha.
He (Vamathevar) by this brahgnanam leaves this world and
lives in the world of souls getting all his desires fulfilled
and reaches the eternal stage. Reaches the eternal stage. ....3.5
Om vangme manasi.........................etc
Om let my mind be concentrated in my words......................etc
Om santhi..............om santhi............om santhi....................
