Willis Haviland Carrier invented the first air conditioning system in 1902. He was born in Angola, New York in 1876 and received a scholarship to Cornell University, graduating in 1901. Air conditioning is the process of altering air properties, primarily temperature and humidity, to create more favorable conditions and can refer more broadly to technological cooling, heating, ventilation, or disinfection that modifies air conditions.
