Water exists in three forms - liquid, solid, and gas - changing forms as temperatures rise and fall. As the sun heats water, it evaporates into vapor and rises into clouds, later falling as precipitation in liquid form as rain or solid form as snow, sleet, or hail depending on temperatures, with mixtures also possible. The water cycle continuously circulates water between clouds, precipitation, rivers/lakes, and seas.
