The students conducted an experiment to determine what materials the Egyptians could have used to help move the sandstone blocks used to build the Great Pyramids. They found that wood rollers required the least amount of energy to move a block, followed by sand. Ice, surprisingly, was one of the hardest materials to move a block on. The students concluded that wood and sand would have been good options for the Egyptians to use since those materials would have been readily available.
